Turn-based bullet-hell class warfare!

Swipe to move in each of the four directions. Ram into things to destroy them, but avoid the dangerous projectiles.

Upgrade your ship with multiple levels of each of the FOUR upgrades.
Discover each of the FIVE endings, (and more secret endings) and unlock new music tracks!
Overcome 11 different enemy types, each with a distinct 'elite' form.
Watch replays of your attempts, and see your long-term statistics.

Earn your freedom!

This is an enhanced version of the game 'Salvage', remade and expanded in Godot.  On top of new features (listed above), it is now available as a native application on mobile and PC.  This should allow it to keep running smoothly into much longer runs, something the original game definitely had trouble with!

The android version on google play doesnt seem to let me download it. It says it was made for an older version of android. I played the original on pc and loved it, would be great to have this one working on my phone.

Sorry about that! Android increased the minimum API required, and I haven't had the chance to re-build the project for the newer specifications yet. I hope to get to it soon, though!

It's been a long time since I've been here, and I was ecstatic to see you had made Salvagette! I have played it a LOT already. Almost as much as Salvage. And I have to say, you did a fantastic job with this one. Completely beautiful. I love the new enemies (I was honored to see my enemy concept included!!!), new powerups, I love all the music, replay button, new graphics, I can’t even list how many things I'm enthused about! I've played it for ~10 hours and will probably keep coming back for more. My best is 65 days, maybe I should try for 100? Does the difficulty ever stop increasing?

I got all the endings. I was surprised by how much easier you made it to get Republic of Virtue. I was so proud to get it on Salvage because back then I wasn't even sure if I had the right idea, and then I was crazy enough to try it and it was really hard. The new upgrades made getting The Republic of Virtue much easier, and honestly, a little bit of a let-down for me. However, getting consummate survivor was something that I did in Salvage to test my limits and it has remained the most difficult challenge of all. I'm glad to have that.

I'd love to share the few things I've noticed. Good news, the list is shorter and less serious this time!

1. I've gotten all the secret endings, but on my stats screen, I see incorruptable on there twice, bringing the list count up to 8. Not sure what I did to cause that.

2. I want to know what the teleporting enemy's name is! Being killed by one will show on both the death screen and stats screen that you were killed by a Thopter.

3. There's a small invisible box on the main screen on the middle right from "tte" to the end. It just makes a little beep when you hover over it.

4. Viewing the key in the shop after purchasing, it has the lvl 2 tag on it even though it's sold out. I wondered if I had to have the key still to upgrade it, so I tried getting another $7 and going back without unlocking the gate just to see. It would be cool if I could unlock a secret room... filled with watchers?????

Anyways, I loved playing your game again for another new experience! It's such a cool and unique game, I keep wishing for more. I'm in agreement that an enemy catalogue would be cool, although just an encounter seems too easy for an entry. Maybe collecting enough parts of them to reassemble one? ...are they organic or mechanic?

I also am such a sucker for easter eggs! Finding the secret endings and discovering how each elite enemy behaved was sooo cool. I keep trying things to see if there's any hidden gem for playing enough days or doing something unique. This game would be prime for an easter egg, some developer gem hidden somewhere most players would never find.

Thank you so much for another good time! Are you planning on letting the concept end with this game? It seems like it's pretty much done with, although I hate to see it get dropped with how little popularity it has. Can I ask what your favorite game to produce has been?

Found something: crabs can be led to fly inside the shop by being on the far left when they go left, and are lined up with the shop.

Thanks so much!  I'm glad you've been enjoying it!  I'm not currently planning anything with this overall concept, but I might revisit it at some point (I hadn't planned on expanding on the first game initially either).

I will probably have to set aside some time to do some bug fixes though! it sounds like a few things fell through the cracks - I don't remember off the top of my head what the upgraded thopter was meant to be called, but I might have it in my notes somewhere (and forgot to put it in the game).

As for difficulty, it "stops" once all available spots are filled and upgraded, but that would be pretty late (and difficult) - I think like level 176 if my math is right?

I remember playing the original back in middle school, just got all 5 main endings. The music is great. Thanks for the awesome games!

Thanks so much!

Fun turn-based bullet-hell shooting game, though. Would anything blue like projectiles destroy my ship?

Thanks very much! And yes, the blue objects (projectiles/beams) are ones that do damage.

Neat movement mechanic. Really enjoying on iOS.

idk if this is any good I just feel like putting it somewhere

First, I would like to say, this is an amazing game with a very unique mechanic. I played Salvage and didn't know there was a sequel until today!

Did you happen to write a list of enemies somewhere? I noticed there are many new enemies like the one with two bullets constantly orbiting around it and the one that charges towards you. Are those all of the new enemies? I would also like to find out their names, but don't want to die constantly. Maybe you can make a guidebook where every time you discover a new enemy, it shows the name, picture, and perhaps even some lore?

Also, what is the difference between a normal enemy and an elite enemy? I have only encountered an elite enemy once with the spotlight laser one and instead of a straight line, it created a circle. Do elite enemies have special behavior and attacks?

Thanks very much!  I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Elite enemies have a variant of the normal enemy behavior or attack.  They're all a bit different and - I think - a bit harder, but that depends on the player I think!

As far as an in-game enemy guide/log book, I'd have to think about that, since it's a lot of information that I'd want to be presentable and not too cluttered.  But I will look into something along those lines!

This is a great game but I think it would be cool if you added a sort of end boss kind of thing that would shoot projectiles and spawn ships at you. Idk if you already implemented this and I just haven't found it but it would be really cool!

I saw that you added replays and the new ship that was described in the comments of Salvage and its so cool to see those comments added into this newer version LOVE IT! keep up the great work

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Buenos gráficos me gustan el juego está muy bien hecho. Felicidades.

ta bien

This game is awesome! I can really see the polish and detail put into it. I also use Godot: I'm curious, what was the original game made in?

Thanks!  The original game was made in HTML5, using custom Javascript.

Hii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it, hopefully it is useful to you ^^

-The idea of the game is really original.

-The gameplay mechanics are really interesting and well implemented, but I think that giving the player a little bit more of money per round could make the game feel more welcoming.

-Visually the game looks really nice and it's visual style fits the theme of the game.

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

Thanks so much!  I appreciate the feedback as well - though while I agree that it would definitely be welcoming, there is a reason (no spoilers!) for it to be as low as it is :)

You are welcome ^^

YES!!! I love Salvage so much, I'm so happy you made this newer version. There's so much more to it while still being the simple game I love, and the new music sounds amazing!!

Thank you!
